Day 11 - Steinhatchee to St. George Island to Panama City Beach

Just a short post for today.  Although the temperatures have been warm by north country standards, we awoke to record low temperatures in Florida this morning.  I do think it is following us.  It quickly warmed up to 60 though and we had a lazy day at the beach.  From Steinhatchee we went to St. George Island and Ron found his Shangri-la.

St. George Island State Park is an unspoiled, pristine stretch of beach which was virtually deserted, except for the seagulls and sandpipers.

We had miles of beach to ourselves and Ron has decided that he could definitely return here to spend time in the future.

We checked out other barrier islands but St. George was definitely our favorite.

It was on to Panama City Beach for dinner and lodging.  As before we were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset.
Tomorrow will be a travel day.  Although our original plan had included "The Big Easy" we thought we would be here earlier.  We do not want to deal with the traffic and crowds so we will be heading to Texas.  It will be a long day with no anticipated stops so we will post again on Sunday.
